Dr. Karen Peesker is a business educator, consultant and researcher in sales leadership. She is an enthusiastic and motivating public speaker who infuses her extensive sales experience into every course. Karen uses an engaging, interactive and coaching approach with a blend of real world experience and leading edge research. She has worked with top corporate clients in the information technology, telecom, banking and pharmaceutical industries.
Karen began her career in sales at Lexmark International Inc. and IBM Canada Ltd. where she was recognized for leading sales teams and winning over customers in China, India, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, The United States, Canada, Denmark, France and Ireland. Karen has also worked with universities including Ted Rogers School of Management, Ryerson University, Canada; School of Business, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland; Ivey Business School, Canada; DeGroote School of Business, Canada and The University of Western Sydney, Australia.
Karen has sales and marketing experience in 15 countries, helping her clients achieve objectives with limited resources. She is an experienced global sales leader, facilitator, and strong negotiator with skills in motivating others through encouragement and enthusiasm. By working closely with your sales leadership team, and listening to your sales representatives she can design customized programs to help you enhance sales performance.
She is the author and co-author of numerous academic articles and business cases, including one which won the Award of Excellence (Emerald Literati Club). Karen holds a PhD in Marketing and Sales Leadership from Cranfield School of Management, Cranfield University, UK and an MBA and HBA from the Ivey Business School, Canada. Her current research examines leadership factors influencing sales performance. With her research background and global work experience Karen is becoming known as a leading expert in the sales leadership field.
Karen served as Co-Chair for the Ivey Business Leader Award Dinner between 2009-2011, helping raise over $1 Million dollars for the Ivey Business School. She has completed the Boston, New York, Paris, Dublin, and London marathons and enjoys spending time with her family, skiing and travel.
Karen and her husband Kevin reside in Toronto, Ontario with their wonderful children.
